1. THE HIGH REEL / THE FLOWERS OF RED HILL. A pair of well-known session reels. Kevin: whistle. David: cittern. Stu: guitar. Paul: dumbek.

2. PADDY'S GREEN SHAMROCK SHORE / INDIAN ON THE ROCK. The first tune is a song of Irish emigration to "Americkay." David learned the following reel from the playing of Malcolm Dalglish and Grey Larsen. Kevin: whistle. David: flute, cittern. Stu: guitar. Marty: percussion, hammered dulcimer, midi.

3. LORD MAYO / THE WAILING BANSHEE. A march and a jig that David picked up at the Pioneer Bar in Sitka, Alaska. David: cittern, flute. Kevin: whistle. Stu: guitar.

4. THE BOYS OF BALLISODARE. Kevin learned this wonderful slip jig from Fintan Vallely in Miltown Malbay, Ireland. Kevin: whistle. David: cittern. Stu: guitar. Marty: hammered dulcimer, bell tree.

5. THE MERRY BLACKSMITH / THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY / DROWSEY MAGGIE. Three hackneyed session reels that are still fun to play, especially with Spud on the mando! Kevin: whistle. David: cittern. Stu: mandolin, guitar. Spud: mandolin.

6. THE FOGGY DEW / THE KID ON THE MOUNTAIN. The first tune is a song that pays tribute to the 1916 uprising in Ireland. After that we play a 6-part slip jig. Kevin: whistle. David: flute. Stu: guitar. Paul: congas.

7. THE SWALLOWTAIL REEL / THE STAR OF MUNSTER. Kevin mistakenly learned this first reel when he was supposed to learn the Swallowtail Jig. The second reel is a standard in the Irish tradition. Kevin: whistle. David: cittern. Stu: guitar. Marty: midi.

8. BOLEN'S FANCY / JENNY PICKING COCKLES. The first tune is a jig we picked up from the playing of Touchstone. The following reel is well-known in its many variations. David: cittern. Kevin: whistles. Stu: guitar, bodhran.

9. THE ARAN BOATSONG / THE KING OF THE FAIRIES. The name of this air refers to a group of islands off the coast of Clare in western Ireland. After the air we play a favorite set dance. Kevin: whistle. David: flute. Stu: guitar.

10. THE DUNMORE LASSES. Spud lifts this traditional Irish reel into the ozone. Spud: mandolin. Stu: mandolin, eggs. David: cittern. Paul: congas.

11. O'CAROLAN'S DRAUGHT. Legendary Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan wrote this tune; Teresa's violin gives it a classical flavor. David: cittern. Teresa: violin. Stu: guitar.

12. CHICKENS ARE A-CROWIN' / CASTLE KELLY. We got this first tune from dulcimer player Mark Nelson; the reel that follows is a standard session tune. Stu: bouzouki, guitar. David: cittern. Kevin: whistle.

13. JEFFERSON AND LIBERTY / CAMPBELL'S FAREWELL TO RED GAP / TEXAS. Spud taught us this early American jig, as well as the final tune in this set. The tune in the middle is a Scottish pipe march we learned from fiddler JohnTisdell. David: cittern. Stu: mandolin. Kevin: whistle. Marty: Jew's harp.

14. THE MUSICAL PRIEST. We conclude with this lively session reel. Thanks to Dermot on the goatskin! Kevin: whistle. David: cittern. Stu: guitar. Dermot: bodhran.
