February 18, 2002. Took an early-season trip up to Figueroa Mountain and found Manzana Creek to be running very low a bad sign this early in the season. Only saw a couple fish all day and couldnt get close enough to fish them without spooking them first. I did sit for awhile and sketch this sycamore stump, a gnarly old bugger that looked like it had seen its share of floods and fire. A beautiful, all natural bonsai tree.
